Novena to St. Josemaría Escrivá

Join us tonight for the Novena to St. Josemaría Escrivá, the founder of Opus Dei and the inspiration of PAREF Schools in the Philippines. Our guided novena will be streamed via Facebook Live every 8:30 PM from June 17 to 25.

FIRST DAY

We dedicate this novena in thanksgiving for the 25 years of the presence of PAREF Schools in Cebu, for the healing and recovery of those afflicted with COVID-19, and for the individual intentions of our families, students, alumni, staff and those of you joining us in this Novena.

SECOND DAY

Join us for the Second Day in our Novena to St. Josemaría Escrivá keeping in mind the following Intentions: 

  1. For the 25th anniversary of the presence of PAREF Schools in Cebu. 
  2. For strength, courage and healing for those working and involved in fighting the current pandemic. 
  3. For the sick and the suffering that they may find courage to face the challenges with faith and joy in the Lord, lifting all their concerns to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through the Immaculate Heart of Mary and St. Josemaría.
  4. For the intentions of the members of Opus Dei. 
  5. For the intentions of our respective families.

THIRD DAY

For the Third Day in our Novena to St. Josemaría Escrivá, we specifically raise all the intentions of consecrated men and women serving the Church. They are our spiritual “frontliners” who offer pleasing sacrifices before the Lord. They constantly need our prayers for strength in their vocation, for comfort in their ministry, and to always be joyful ministers of the Gospel for all people.

FOURTH DAY

For the Fourth Day in our Novena to St. Josemaría Escrivá, we keep in mind intentions for all the fathers who did so much goodness in this very tough situation. Despite the fatigue and weariness, you push to offer your love to your family with sincerity and self-sacrifice, in which generates hope.

FIFTH DAY

For the Fifth Day in our Novena to St. Josemaría Escrivá, we remember the victims of the COVID-19 virus and the families who suffered with the loss. We offer our intentions for them as we hear the Word of God that transforms, renews, heals, and forgives.

SIXTH DAY

For the Sixth Day in our Novena to St. Josemaría Escrivá, we offer our intentions to the neglected and forgotten. In these troubles times, we pray that they have with them courage and fortitude to have hope in life, and we, as their brothers and sisters, remember them with sincere charity. We also offer our intentions to those who are away from their family, that they may be able to stay strong and offer their struggles up.

SEVENTH DAY

For the Seventh Day in our Novena to St. Josemaría Escrivá, we offer our intentions to the young people. We pray that they strive to fulfill their duties and develop themselves in study and work so they can serve God and the community with competence and character. In these troubled times, we pray that the young ones to be courageous who wont retreat from serving others, to the point of giving their time and effort to care for those who need them.

EIGHTH DAY

For the Eighth Day in our Novena to St. Josemaría Escrivá, our intentions go to the service industry who are taking risks to continue serving the basic needs of people. We pray for the safety and health of every person in the market, grocery, food delivery, and other basic food providers. We also offer our intentions to the maritime personnel and fisherman whose work has become even more important today.
